Something not behaving? Tell us about it below. These land with a person, not a queue, and we answer all of them.
Tell us what happened
Fill this in and it opens your email with everything already written. Nothing sends until you hit send.
What you expected, and what happened instead. That one sentence does more than anything else to get it fixed quickly.
Only needed if you use Copy instead. If you send from your own email we already have it.
What gets sent along with this
Nothing from your account. No classes, no deadlines, no lists. Just enough for us to work out where it went wrong.
Or write to us directly at [email protected].
Common questions
My sign-in code never arrived
There are no passwords here. You put in your email, we send a code. If it hasn't turned up after a minute or two:
- Look in spam. The first one often lands there, and once you move it over the rest behave.
- Try your other address. Plenty of people sign up on their school email and then go looking in their personal one.
- Ask for a fresh code. The old one dies the moment a new one goes out, so use the newest email, not the first.
Still nothing? Tell us above and we'll go and look.
Why does it want my date of birth?
homeroom for students is for people 18 and over, so we check once, right at the start.
The date gets checked on your phone and then thrown away. It never reaches us. There's no field anywhere in our system that holds a birthday or an age, so there's nothing for us to lose.
What's the difference between a class and a deadline?
A class repeats. Put it in once with its days and times and it fills out the rest of the term, which is why setup takes about a minute rather than an evening.
A deadline happens once, on a date. Those are what the term view counts down and what turns up under Due soon.
Then there's everything that's neither. The goggles you need Thursday, the form somebody wants signed. Those go in Remember this week, and if the week gets away from you they roll into the next one instead of quietly vanishing.
How do I share my week with a roommate or my mom?
Settings, then the share link. Whoever opens it sees your week. They don't need an account.
Anything you've marked private stays out of it, and so does anything outside the week the link covers.
Treat it like a key. Whoever has it can see what it covers, so send it to people directly rather than posting it somewhere, and switch it off when you're done.
Can I get my classes into Apple Calendar?
Yes. Settings, then Calendar feed, gives you a link to subscribe to in Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or anything that takes a calendar URL.
It runs one way. What you put in homeroom shows up over there. What you add over there stays there.
How do I change or cancel Student Plus?
Plus is handled on the web rather than in the app. Open homeroom in a browser, go to Settings, follow the billing link. Cancel whenever you want and you keep Plus until the end of what you've already paid for.
How do I delete my account and everything in it?
Settings, then Delete my account. We'll ask you to type DELETE first, because there's no getting it back.
It takes your account, everything in it, every sign-in attached to it, and the record our payment processor holds. Nothing stays behind.
I think I found a bug
Please tell us. Honestly, the bug reports are some of the most useful mail we get, and a screenshot is worth more than a paragraph.
One thing we'd ask
homeroom is built for the running of a term. Classes, deadlines, chores, what you owe and when. It isn't a medical record or a safe.
Share links are made to be passed around, which is the whole point of them, so keep the sensitive specifics out of titles and notes. "Appointment at 3" does the job. Anything you'd rather keep close, mark it private, and it stays out of every link you send.
